Finishing Department 3rd Shift Supervisor


Position summary: Direct and manage the hourly workforce. Assign work, implement policies and procedures; recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.


Position responsibilities:

  • Becomes the resident expert on machine knowledge training and assisting operators in troubleshooting when issues arise.
  • Ensures effective employee relations
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Manages departmental performance measures; provides daily progress reports to Plant Manager.
  • Monitors WIP flow to minimize downtime.
  • Tracks absenteeism; time-keeping
  • Performs accident investigations
  • Improves machine uptime while reducing scrap.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Enforce all company legal and contractual requirements


Essential skills and experience:

  • Associates degree and 2-5 years leadership experience in manufacturing environment or minimum 7 – 10 years experience
  • Leadership, supervision and discipline

  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment may be moderate to high. Some travel via air or auto.
