We are a leading manufacturer serving worldwide markets in automotive, off-road and appliances with specialized welded steel tubing, headquartered in Wyoming New York, 45 minutes Southwest of Rochester and 1 hour Southeast of Buffalo.  We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.

 

Position summary:  Provide engineering support for manufacturing operations with responsibility for equipment/tooling, material handling, labor/methods development, and process controls.  Will encompass daily manufacturing support, continuous improvement projects, and process development/launch for new programs.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering. Other education may be considered with applicable experience.
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office tools, AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Hands on approach to engineering
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Engineering or Co-Op experience in an industrial setting

 

Desired:

  • Fixture, Tooling or Machine design experience
  • PLC, Database or Networking experience

Financial Controller

Markin Tubing, a leading manufacturer of steel tubing which sells to some of the world’s largest OEMs (GM, Ford, John Deere, Caterpillar) is seeking a Controller to be based in our Wyoming, NY facility.

 

Position summary:

The Controller at Markin is responsible for partnering with senior members of the organization to monitor performance and oversee all financial planning and reporting. The ideal candidate will be operationally focused with strong manufacturing accounting and analytical skills.

 

Key Deliverables of the Position:

  • Work with the Senior Leadership team on strategic initiatives and be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Provide financial analysis across all the product lines to ensure the business is meeting expected and appropriate margin targets.
  • Develop timely, accurate, and well supported GAAP financial statements. Analyze financial results monthly for variances to budget.
  • Coordinate and lead the development of the annual budget; as appropriate, lead forecast updates to ensure organizational alignment.
  • Provide leadership, development, and oversight to the financial accounting staff.
  • Coordinate required info for the external audit and serve as the main internal contact during the audit fieldwork.

 

First Year Success Factors:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business and financial systems, tools, and metrics utilized at Markin Tubing while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain the existing high standard of execution from the controllership function expressed by generating timely and accurate financial statements, monitoring critical metrics such as DSO, Inventory turns, etc.

 

Education and Experience:

BS degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive financial experience; CPA is preferred, but not required.

    • Financial and Operations analysis & financial modeling – ability to frame questions, gather and organize data to deliver insights.

Production Team Member

Markin Tubing produces over one million feet of tubing per day that is used around the world in everything from cars to refrigerators and we depend on our Manufacturing team to keep the entire operation running smoothly. As a Production Team Member you will have the opportunity to be involved in all areas of production from tube production and quality certification to packaging and shipping.

What will I do?

  • Operate tube mill, tube cutting, and/or deburring equipment ensuring product conforms to customer specifications throughout manufacturing process.
  • Record production details into our computer system
  • Properly handle products to ensure they meet Markin’s quality standard.
  • Practice safety techniques, comply with equipment maintenance and use guidelines and labor laws, safely complete work, and maintain a clean work environment

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Plant Manager

Markin Tubing is a leading manufacturer of tight tolerance, coated and uncoated steel tubing used in global automotive, hydraulic and appliance markets.  We are recruiting for a Plant Manager to lead our Wyoming, NY manufacturing operations to achieve customer satisfaction and meet critical business objectives by building a safe, lean, and metrics-driven manufacturing culture. The Plant Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and be part of creating, communicating, and executing the vision and goals of the business.

 

Key Responsibilities: The Plant Manager is directly responsible for managing manufacturing, engineering, and maintenance while collaborating with functional leads in Quality, Supply Chain, and EH&S to ensure alignment, execution, and attainment of plant goals.

 

Additional responsibilities include the following.

  • Ensure the voice of the customer is respected and customer issues are given appropriate response.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance with a Fast Response culture focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery/Throughput, and Cost.
  • Establish a culture of respect for shop floor organization with emphasis on visual control and plant cleanliness.
  • Drive organization to manage capital asset maintenance both in terms of plant facilities and productive equipment.
  • Provide direction and development to plant supervision.
  • Ensure local agreement is adhered to by union & management alike.
  • Develop initiatives and management processes to meet budget commitments.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement processes to support lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Ensure plant operations abide by IATF-16949 Quality Management System and ISO-14001 Environmental Management System.

 

Essential skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of progressively challenging experience in a management role in a unionized manufacturing environment, including first line supervision
  • Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting, and cost control
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures including lean manufacturing
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of success developing others
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Electrician

Markin Tubing, a leading manufacturer of steel tubing serving the worldwide automotive and appliance markets seeks a qualified Electrician to work 3rd shift (midnight to 8 am). Markin’s Wyoming, New York facility is located between Buffalo and Rochester, 10 minutes south of the village of LeRoy in western New York.

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

– 4+ years industrial electrical experience
– Ability to troubleshoot production machinery including programmable controllers
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
– Practical knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC)
– Working knowledge of PLCs
– Working knowledge of feeders, power circuits, limit switches, proximity switches, pressure switches, flow switches, pushbuttons, solenoids, encoders and lockout/tagout
– Must know how to run EMT and RGC
– Willing to work 3rd shift
– Knowledge of motors/controls, variable speed drives, induction heating, and a Journeyman certification are all +’s.
